President Buhari’s Vacation in London Unnecessary, I Could Have Hosted Him In Lagos

President Buhari,while in London

Written By: Emmanuel Udeagha

Dear President Muhammadu Buhari, it is with great empathy for our families in IDP camps in North East that I write you. I have kept wondering why urgent situations such as malnutrition and security of our brothers and sisters are not of serious concern to your government. Mr President I understand that you need medical attention, but what happened to our world class Aso Rock clinic that billions of Naira was budgeted for? How come our National Hospital, Abuja cannot administer proper medical attention that you have to fly 6hrs to the UK each time you need to go for check-up.

Mr. President, a lot was said to vote you into power, promises were made and to a large extent these promises are yet to be fulfilled. You have not granted us the security you promised, neither have you given us electricity like Babatunde Fashola criticized the previous administration for failing to do, you also have failed in your monetary policies to keep our economy afloat, you have also not provided us jobs. Recently, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi told us that ‘we should stop whining, that nobody owes us anything’ – even after 3million people lost their jobs.

My President, I could have comfortably hosted in my house (in Lagos) if I knew early enough that you would be on vacation. My apartment may not be massive like ‘the other room’ in Aso Villa or your house in Daura, but am sure to make you very comfortable. I know I can use my life savings or even borrow from my brothers to ensure you’re well fed even if it means killing one goat every day, provide you 24hrs electricity (despite I will run generator all through as we don’t have light), give you 32″ Tv to watch Channels news when you want to, i also have enough cartoons i bought for my niece in case you need to relax as Shehu Garba said you love to watch Tom & Jerry. Rather than travel to the UK with long list of delegation, your estacode could have been donated to the IDPs in North East to lessen the embarrassment of malnutrition on our children.

May i remind you sir, that your trip to the UK is totally unnecessary as we need you around to resolve issues bedeviling the country. You were strong enough to fly to Banjul (Gambia) to mediate for Ecowas in bid to restore democracy and rule of law – which we all commend your effort even though you don’t yield to court order regarding Nnamdi Kanu and Dasuki Sambo. Do you know that Gambia has 1.8m population while Kaduna state has 6m? And under your watch Fulani herdsmen are committing genocide in Southern Kaduna and you have not felt the urgency to visit? You also did not consider visiting Rann, Borno State where our Air force claimed to have bombed by mistake killing over 200 IDPs and aid workers? You have felt unperturbed regarding the unlawful killing of armless IPOB protesters in South East and Shi’te members in Zaria by the military. Mr President, you have failed in your ‘own’ KPI as a leader, you have failed in every metric with which we can assess your performance, but we wait for it. Just like your wife said ‘she will not support you when you seek re-election in 2019, be sure to count on the support of all those killed in Aba, PH, Southern Kaduna, Rann as well as El Zakzaky and his congregation.

My Security Concern For Shopping Malls in Nigeria

By Emmanuel Udeagha B.

I left my house for church all dressed & dapper. After spending sometime in church; i left in search of photo studio to take pictures as that was the only thing i knew would make me happy. While checking buildings along Allen Avenue for a photo studio, i decided to go have lunch at Ikeja city mall popularly known as Ikeja Shoprite,Lagos.

Shoprite,Ikeja Lagos

Shoprite,Ikeja Lagos

Thoughts float through my mind; still, I couldn’t explain nor put anything together. But while i walk round the mall trying to decide what to eat, i could see different people dressed as though they are promiscuous. Apologies! The African upbringing i have is such that indecent dressing is adjudged immoral, but over time, formal education and internet changed that belief. Obviously many of these people come with their husbands, boyfriends, fiancé or even people they met at the club(s) the night before. Some others like the lady that stood next to me were carrying her bible which tells you she came straight from church. One would wonder if her Blessing has leaked (wasted) considering the sinful things her eyes would see.

Ikeja City mall is a place to be, and ever busy on Sundays. Young boys come to look for girls and vice versa, people like me come to get inspiration on what to write about with a bit of ulterior motive, the Chinese come in dozens, families come to do lunch, many others to take pictures while on the escalator – anything for fun. Serious shoppers with legal tender to spare sneak in and out quietly. The number of children that come with parents or siblings aren’t left out, a wonder why footfall on weekends range between 30,000 – 45,000. This is a massive traffic if you ask me because if building of shopping mall is for people like me, many companies would go bankrupt. I seldom visit. The real owners of this shopping mall are not here yet, the night crawlers, party poppers and those whose life is not complete without being the typical Lagosians – hanging out to drink with friends until mid night. After having my lunch, i decided to talk randomly to people to know why they like to visit the mall and how frequent they come; (a) Donald, says he comes here for “everything” – movies, shopping and hanging out with friends. (b) Ifeoma, says she enjoys the live band but has serious concerns shopping in the mall because of long and slow queues when making payment. (c) Seyi, says he visits often, mostly for movies and sometimes business meetings. (d) Group of guys I spoke with say “they come to Ikeja mall “just for church service”.

One thing that left to me worried as i walked through the gate was “The Security”. Security of my country in the last seven (7) years has been stretched beyond limit, bringing to public domain the inefficiency of our security forces to adequately combat terrorism, poor internal security architecture, shortage of arms & equipments and diversion of funds for arms procurement. I imagined myself being trapped in the event a similar occurrence to 2013 Westgate shopping mall attack happens. It is understandable Ikeja city mall is located very close to office of the Lagos State Governor. That, to me guarantees nothing if necessary action is not taken to tackle the problem. I hope it’s just an illusion.

Battle of Manchester: City and United ready to scrap for Gareth Bale

real-madrids-gareth-bale-wanted-manchester-1431869739914

Gareth Bale continues to be the talk of a host of Premier League clubs, all of whom are watching on to see how his future develops at Real Madrid.

In England, they suggest the Welshman has decided to leave Madrid and return to Britain, where he would be the star player in any side.

Manchester United have maintained an interest in the former Tottenham man. Louis van Gaal believes that Bale is the piece that would help the club push on towards becoming champions again.

At Old Trafford they know it would take a lot of money to lure him back, but it’s money they believe they have.

However, their neighbours Manchester City are also on the scene, according to The Sun. Manuel Pellegrini has spoken openly about the club’s need to sign a superstar, with an opening offer of €60million reported.

The war between the two Manchester clubs could be about to begin. Bale is the object of their desires.

Louis van Gaal admits David de Gea will find it difficult to turn down Real Madrid

Louis van Gaal has suggested that David de Gea could be set to swap Manchester United for Real Madrid this summer.

“We won’t let him leave easily, but De Gea has the chance to go to a great Spanish club,” Van Gaal revealed after United’s draw with Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.

It’s confirmation of what they have been reporting in England for a long time: The goalkeeper’s future is at Real Madrid.

United have offered De Gea a huge new contract which would make him the club’s highest paid player, more than Wayne Rooney, but he is yet to sign. His agent Jorge Mendes is aware of Madrid’s interest and how much they would pay.

Van Gaal does want the stopper to renew but is also aware that the €60 million Madrid may be prepared to spend would be a huge amount of money that the Premier League side could reinvest.

In Victor Valdes, who made his debut on Sunday replacing De Gea, who went off injured, they may already have a substitute.

After failing in the Champions League and the league this season, Madrid are looking to bolster their squad.

They are also hoping to land Paul Pogba, although they are not the only side keen on Juventus’ French midfielder. Perez really wants him, though, and has already been in touch with his agent, Mino Raiola.

Lionel Messi 11-7 Cristiano Ronaldo… and it could be 13-7 to Barça star in a few weeks

ronaldo-and-messi-1431949554661

…Since Madrid signed Ronaldo, Messi has been able to win much more with his club than the Portugese has with his!

The battle between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo began in 2009, when the Portuguese player signed for Real Madrid for 94 million euros. Since then, the football world has been gripped by the ongoing duel between the two best players on the planet.

A duel which has a clear winner, Messi: He has won 11 titles in that time compared to Ronaldo’s seven for Madrid. That’s four more for Barça’s No.10, which could be six if Luis Enrique’s side can also win the finals of the Copa del Rey (May 30) and the Champions League (June 6).

Ronaldo took two years to win a title with Madrid. His first was the 2011 Copa del Rey, which saw him net the winner in the final against Barcelona. He has since won six more trophies: La Liga (2012), Champions League (2014), Copa del Rey (2014), Club World Cup (2014), UEFA Super Cup (2014) and the Spanish Super Cup (2012). Last season, with four titles, was his best with Los Blancos.

Messi, who had already won 10 titles with Barça before Ronaldo arrived, has maintained his winning streak in Spanish football. Since Ronaldo turned up, the Argentine crack has won four Ligas (2010, 2011, 2013, 2015), one Copa (2012), one Champions League (2011), one Club World Cup (2011), one UEFA Super Cup (2011) and three Spanish Super Cups (2010, 2011, 2013).

This season he is still hopeful of winning two more and completing a historic treble, for the second time in his career.

And it is that Messi, thoughout his Blaugrana career (he debuted on October 16, 2004), has won 21 titles with the Catalan club, including three Champions Leagues and seven Ligas, while Ronaldo has won 17 (10 of those with Manchester United).

The stats do not lie. Leo Messi is the best player in the world. And possibly in history. And he still has plenty of time to put more distance between himself and the ‘mortal’ Cristiano Ronaldo.

Valentine Ozorwanfor of Hollando FC cried uncontrollably as his team was unable to defeat Soccer Plaza FC to remain League leaders for the first time this season. Coach daddy of Ambassadors FC was furious with his players as he claimed they didn’t put up what he called “ No Die Hardness” to win, as they lost 1-0 at home to Taraba FC.

Stars  boost for Soccer Plaza as Toni ( Qatar) and former Junior International John Owoerri (ex Sharks FC) returns to team.

It was also first win for Tripoli FC as coach of team Soti was very pleased with the result. And Super Sunday  will feature George FC vs Young Ambassadors at 3:30pm. Kindly like our Facebook page www.facebook.com/no1premierleague for me updates, or visit www.facebook.com/naijasoccermarket.

Man Utd Have Been Chasing Adama Traore

Adama Traore

Adama Traore

Barcelona’s Adama Traore has not enjoyed the most peaceful summer. Since the end of last season, the Barça B forward has had various offers from Premier League clubs to quit Spain and move to England.

His pace and physical strength have not gone unnoticed by some of English football’s biggest clubs.

Among the many offers that Adama has had, the most interesting one came from Manchester United. At Old Trafford, they consider his qualities ideal for exploding in England.

And even a change of manager at United hasn’t changed their view on Adama. In August, the Red Devils were still trying to see if they could do a deal. Other clubs, such as Stoke City and Tottenham, were also monitoring the situation.

With so much interest, the player and his agents, wanting to know about what the future held at Barça, held a meeting with Luis Enrique and Andoni Zubizarreta.

In the meeting it was revealed that Adama has a future at Barcelona, but he must continue for the next season with Barça B. He is not available, not even on loan. And with that, the doors were completely closed.

Vermaelen A Step Closer To Barça Debut

vermaelens-fitness-improving-1409755721251

Thomas Vermaelen has finally begun training with his Barcelona teammates – or at least those who aren’t away with their international teams.

The former Arsenal defender, who picked up an injury while playing for Belgium at the World Cup in Brazil, completed his first session on Wednesday morning with his new colleagues.

He had previously been training on his own.

Meanwhile, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi, who both have minor knocks, and Doulgas worked individually. Jordi Masip, who returned from a broken finger this week, took part in some physiotherapy.

José Aurelio Suárez, Maxi Rolón and Juan Cámara, from Barça B, and Moha, form Juvenil A, also took part in Wednesday’s session.

Luis Enrique was not present, however, as he is attending a UEFA event for elite managers in Europe.

Champions League Match: OBJ FC Vs GEJ United, Read Match Commentary

This Champions League Match commentary between OBJ FC vs GEJ United is brought to you Eziefule Ezinwa, Bamituni Abamu, Flex Dino Kempes.

OBJ vs GEJAfter President Goodluck Jonathan replied former President Obasanjo’s letter here is the match Commentary…Enjoy

At the moment, the match is still 1-1. However, the way this match is going, it’s like OBJ needs to make a smart substitution and use the Barcelona 4-3-3 attacking formation, since GEJ united is playing counter attack. Remember GEJ united signed a powerful lone striker Iyabo from Ogun state United. I wonder how OBJ united missed that striker during the January transfer window. With APC incorporated as their new sponsors, OBJ united might have an upper hand in the return match because more strikers will join the club on free transfer. So let us wait till the end of the second 90 minutes. (Heineken, official champions league sponsors….Drink responsibly)

Ado Bashir: Ok…time I take a pee! this game might get to extra time!

Bamituni Abamu: Yeah Iyabo was the unlikeliest player I thought would equalise for GEJ United. We all know He has one of the most deadliest and potent strikers in Doyin Okupe. There is still much play but I’ll advice FC OBJ not to bring in Fani Kayode from the bench because he’s not a fans favourite.
